It's hard to write

All the previous blogs had some reference to Carol being a fighter.
That fact still did not change. She is still fighting to the end with the little strength left on her.

Her doctor at Moffitt told us that after all the treatments that Carol underwent, they were unable to stop her aggressive Leukemia blast cells and at the end, recommended that Carol use her time left doing what she always wanted to do.

It's ironic that someone can do whatever they wanted to do when there is not much time left to do it.
Last week Carol was admitted, released and readmitted to the Tidewel hospice house, were she is now, only receiving medications to ease the legs and abdomen pain. Basically to make her remaining time more comfortable and pain free.

We can never thank enough to all of you that in many different ways brighten her life while healthy or while going through this long and painful stage.
Sincerely.
Jaime

  2. While we only have known Carol for a year or so, she has impacted our lives as an example of unending courage and determination. Her incredible love for her family has reminded us about what is truly important in life. We wish the entire Gray family strength during this excrutiating time. We are all better having known Carol. 9. So brave. So packed with energy. So human. So caring. I was a complete rowing newbie when I met Carol at the boat ramp. She introduced me to Rowing News, mostly as a way to justify the pampering she gave her boat and oars. She made sure I knew about mirrors, about dry packs for cell phones. She shared the joy the sport gave her.
My experience with Carol was short, but she gave a lot in a a brief time.
I cannot imagine how much she gave those who knew and loved her best.
I am in awe of the support and care those people gave Carol in return.

  10. You and all those around you tried so hard. Now I wish you time for all of the wonderful memories of your life, and I wish for all who know you to remember all of the special ways that you contributed to their lives. Whether as mortals or in the beyond, we exist only because others know or remember us. It has been an honor.

  11. Carol, Jaime and Family,

Our deepest thoughts and never-ending prayers are with you in this difficult time.
It is you who have given all us courage; you have shown that hope is always worth
clinging to; that family is the greatest cohesive on this planet; and that love not only
endures, but grows to be strongest amongst family and friends during the darkest
of hours. Carol has been our gift from the Almighty; a gift which we can never
repay, but one which all who know and love her will treasure today, tomorrow, and
forever after. Carol also has taught us how to be brave, to fight the battle relentlessly
and with fervent courage, dignity, and selflessness. Thank you Carol...thank you for
being in our lives, for making us stronger, and for radiating your love.
